What this site is
BuildingsMath is a free collection of construction-material calculators — concrete, gravel, mulch, framing, roofing, paint and more. Each tool answers one practical question: how much do I need to buy? You enter your measurements, and the page returns the quantity your supplier actually sells — cubic yards, bags, tons, boards or gallons. There is nothing to install and no account to create: every calculator runs right here in your browser.
How the numbers are produced
Every calculator is built from a published formula. Slab volume, for example, is length × width × thickness converted to cubic yards, with an allowance for spillage and a minimum order. Each tool page shows the formula it uses together with a worked example, so you can check the result against a tape measure and a pencil before you order. Where a figure depends on a supplier or a regional code, the calculator lets you enter your own value instead of assuming one.
Why the site exists
BuildingsMath started from a simple annoyance: material calculators that hide their math, ask you to sign up, or bury the answer under pop-ups. This site takes the opposite approach — show the formula, keep the page fast, and let you leave with the number you came for.
Corrections and requests
Construction formulas and material packaging change, and mistakes happen. If a calculator returns a result that does not match the material on your site, or a tool you need is missing, tell us through the contact page. We check reports against the published reference and update the affected tool when the method needs to change.
What this site is not
BuildingsMath is a reference tool, not professional engineering, architectural or code advice. Ordering quantities are estimates; always confirm them against your supplier and any local building requirements.
