A walk-behind mower covers roughly <strong>200–300 sq ft per minute</strong>; a 42-inch ride-on does 1,000+. The calculator turns area and pace into hours per mow, then applies your hourly rate — the same math lawn services use to quote weekly accounts. Add 20% for edging, trimming and gate fiddling.
Use it on either side of the deal
Homeowners can sanity-check a service quote (a 10,000 sq ft lawn at 250 sq ft/min is 40 minutes of mowing — quotes far above an hour's rate deserve a second bid), and mowing businesses can build per-visit prices that survive contact with real lawns.
