Standard rebar weights
Rebar weight is published per size: <strong>#3 = 0.376 lbs/ft, #4 = 0.668 lbs/ft, #5 = 1.043 lbs/ft, #6 = 1.502 lbs/ft</strong>. The size number is the bar diameter in eighths of an inch, so #5 is 5/8 inch. Multiply by your total linear footage and you have shipping weight — a 500-foot #4 order is 334 lbs, meaningful when you're loading it alone.
Why weight matters beyond shipping
