Sod comes in pieces and pallets
Standard sod pieces cover about <strong>2 square feet</strong> (some farms cut 1×2, others 2×4 rolls), shipped <strong>~50 pieces per pallet ≈ 100 sq ft</strong>. The calculator converts your lawn area to pieces and pallets; add 5% for shaping around beds, paths and sprinkler heads.
Order it, lay it, water it — same day
Sod is perishable: cut, delivered and laid within 24–48 hours or it yellows and rots. Measure the day before you order, have the soil tilled and raked first, and start watering within 30 minutes of the first pallet hitting the grass. The calculator is the easy part — the schedule is the project.
